Thinking about how when I broke my wrist and had to wear a variety of braces for several months, I was technically disabled and how much it sucked ass

It really does only take one thing

@coriander i haven't been thinking of myself as "disabled" for a while*

but like. yeah you can just have a bad handful of seconds and then, that's it. it's kind of terrifying

*not because of a value judgement or anything, just "it has gotten so much easier to walk and i generally don't need help with stuff anymore". like by the models of disability i'm familiar with i don't really qualify, i can do just about anything i want and any remaining physiotherapy or whatever is to ensure that stays true

Follow

@monorail @coriander sometimes this is how i feel about my diabetes, but the thing about it fur me is the upkeep never stops and the consequences of failure to do so can be dire

@monorail @coriander everything i do has to be just a little bit more complicated, and normally it’s fine, but i’ve had some Times with travel in purrticular
