owncast grumbling

why doesnt the "user" json structure include whether or not the user is a fucking moderator?

ugh.

what a pain in my ASS

owncast grumbling

and here we are again.

with me having to open github issues.

owncast grumbling

not only do i have to make a github issue i have to also edit the issues i make because their issue template is fucked up and includes placeholder text

owncast grumbling

im just gonna keep building out my shit the way im envisioning and eventually the api will catch up lmao.

i'll just. idk. make it print warnings or something.

owncast grumbling

okay so it seems like you DO get info whether a user is a moderator but its only when the user joins the chat.

so now i have to like. add so much extra overhead to keep track of user ids as they join instead of a single json field being added into the chat webhook event.

haha. awesome.

I also really love how my issue was closed with just a single unformatted blob of json saying “yeah you do get it”

owncast grumbling

ah well no wonder i didnt realize that i still got it because all their fucking webhook api examples are out of date. ugh
