god i don't remember all the details. but i was watching a talk about 3ds hacking where they were trying and trying to get this important key out of a protected register, they couldn't crack the encryption, they kept bashing their head against it and it just wasn't happening. nintendo actually implemented the security properly for once

and then someone from the wii u community poked their head in and went "oh it's a miiverse key? let me check... yeah we have that one, they didn't encrypt it for us. here you go"
