the original feels more punk and the rearrangement feels more rock? idk if that's accurate
I don't /think/ we have a preference between them? the rearrangement maybe feels longer than we want, but that might be because we listened to it second

@aescling it might be partly a nostalgia thing, yeah
that said, we might not be the best judge because neither version really caught us? so we might just be missing the appeal entirely

not illustrated in this comparison is how in SA2 the introductory bass lick is timed for exactly when sonic hits the ground, which is not done in Generations, which is a huge miss imo
also i do not understand the harmony in the new take, i think it’s very strange; i can’t tell if i really do think it’s wrong or if i’m just thrown off by it being different. regardless, i wish they kept the original harmony
