- i do not believe that randomness is the primary factor when it comes to who wins a game of magic the gathering, and this is a good thing, randomness should ideally play a small role in determining that
- i believe that the most fun games of magic the gathering are the extremely close nailbiters
- i recognize that if a game is an extremely close nailbiter, one good topdeck could have turned the game either way, meaning that randomness had an exaggerated effect on the outcome

these things shouldn't go together. and yet
