@iliana No, there has been at least one proposal for it but it never gets very far.

@aschmitz @iliana if you want to make it happen the best route is probably to get mathematicians to start using it

@iliana @u2764 @aschmitz if you have a time machine, people who work with Old Church Slavonic also have a good track record of getting symbols added to unicode even when there’s very few uses of that symbol in their corpus, so you’d only need to deface one or two bibles

@Satsuma @iliana @aschmitz or Middle English. if you could convince Orrm to adopt it in the Ormulum it would definitely have been encoded by now

Follow

@aschmitz @u2764 @iliana the psalter that ꙮ is from isn’t even particularly famous afaik but yeah medievalists in general love to encode characters, so there’s definitely options

@Satsuma @aschmitz @iliana the lack of horizontal lines means the cool S would make an okay rune, but unfortunately unicode encoding of runes is a mess

@u2764 @Satsuma @aschmitz @iliana what I really want to know is if we can specify that it must be formed using combiners in such a way that every time it is displayed it’s by having it drawn a segment at a time on the screen because if so I’m willing to do whatever else it takes to get this done, up to and including working on the time machine bit.
