Wed Oct 14 is Cake for Trans Friends Day (also known as Trans Cake Day)!
Days celebrating trans and nonbinary people usually "involve marginalised people doing yet more work to draw attention to themselves in a dangerous environment." Oct 14 is a day for us to just celebrate our trans friends - with cake or any other form of recognition and appreciation. 🍰

the people have spoken. while pecan bars had the early lead, apple cake is the winner by far. I look forward to trying this recipe! I actually have all the ingredients already except for the almonds, which are optional, but I'll try to pick some up tomorrow before I start baking 🍏
Trans Cake Day report
I got kind of a late start baking, but then we got to have apple cake out on the deck after dark, because it's a breezy warm night and my trans housemate has cold symptoms.
it's really tasty and was quite simple to make! will definitely use this recipe again. might experiment with a little less oil, but overall very good. (recipe link is upthread if you're interested.)
