This morning I expressed in an appointment about my psych meds that it was absolutely impacting my mood and emotional health every time ICE kills another person. My practitioner used phrases like "hopefully the state can just comply" with ICE demands and "hand over criminal immigrants" in a horribly failed attempt to be comforting. I managed to change the topic without giving ground.
It's a shame; they had otherwise provided good care. I already have leads on finding someone else. Grumpy now.

@Satsuma it was, in the moment, expressed with impressive kindness toward _me_ and when I said I don't agree with those positions she started indicating that she wanted to talk specifics about beliefs in the numbers of immigrant criminals and I said no no, we don't want to spend this appointment on that. It was wild, she just... politely lost her head about what was appropriate and I pushed us back on target. So that's that. I hope she has put my refill through.
@Satsuma yeah. Thank you! I am still quite angry about it and kind of sat and fumed and did a little armchair activism instead of work this afternoon and I wanted that time for other things, but it'll be fine in the end. Just stinks that she blew it so very badly.
