i've been experimenting with new backgrounds today: i'm trying to find something that holds more light in the images, given that i only use natural light and this is not the best time of year for that.

may i ask please what you all think of this in comparison to the darker, woodier setting of previous images? i'm trying to keep it natural and gentle but also brighten things up. i used a different window! (i've used the same window for years)

(i'm not overly keen on the wood here as i think it's too yellow, but i have a thing about that, so.)

...
huh. no polls allowed with images anymore.

edited: this is already with a polarising filter and diffuser. glaze is very shiny; it's very hard to remove all reflections. i used to recolour every instance of glare in every image by hand, but it takes hours and i just can't do it anymore!

@moonrabbit i wouldn’t worry too much about trying to get rid of the glare — if this was taken by a photographer as a print yeah maybe it would be an issue, but here the fact that the glaze is extremely shiny is important information about how the piece looks and feels that prospective customers should know about? As long as its not so intense that its obscuring important details (which it doesn’t seem to be) I’d just embrace it

as for the setting, it looks very cozy!

@Satsuma

thank you so much! i'm so glad to hear other people's views on this.

learning to just embrace it is definitely a lesson for me! :BlobCat_Giggle:
