Sooo… hundreds of heavenly officials crowding the giant statues shoulders “and chest” - really the only way that would work is if statue!xie lian has tits, right? Where is there to perch on someone’s chest otherwise (while the person is standing up)?
@villainousfriend @Satsuma oh, those are both options, you’re right! Collarbones aren’t chesty as such, but as we’re talking “shoulders and chest”, we’re in the right area for sure. Having them stand out enough to perch on would require thin clothing, sort of the opposite of the armour theory! But both would work. I always just pictured the statue in robes, but given it carries a sword, and xl was a general, armour would make sense, now that I think about it.
