there was a period early in robbery/heist season where kjb was falling a little flat for me, but we've been getting banger after banger of late and I am so glad to see back on their game.
it really is a podcast that tells me so much about pop culture narratives of masculinity that I would otherwise never have exposure to!
Also I haven't mentioned some of my fave podcasts of late, but queer as fact and 8 days of dwj and lingthusiasm andmaintenace phase etc all continue to be great
also I have recently gotten into Ear Hustle, which is a podcast by and about incarcerated people in the USA, and it's fascinating. I've only listened to a few episodes so far but I'm excited to hear more!
And there's a wonderful 5-episode podcast called Charlie's Place which is an examination of the history of a black-owned racially integrated club in Myrtle Beach (in the Jim Crow south) in the 1940's, the social power it had for a time, and the ways white supremacy couldn't stand to let it and its owner Charlie, and the whole community, continue to be what it was. The podcast does an amazing job of bringing to life the specifics of the time and place through interviews with local people who grew up in that era, and what Charlie's place meant to the community, and the immediate and lasting effects on the whole black community in Myrtle Beach due to what happened to that club and to Charlie. Highly recommend a listen!
