Just learned from @Satsuma that the actual Swiss National Tourism Board did a monthlong check-in campaign for Quanzhi Gaoshou/The King’s Avatar! And they named Ye Xiu as the Swiss Tourism Explorer 2025!

This is completely surreal to me. I haven’t even read the novel or watched the donghua, but my mind is boggling seeing all these photos from places where I’ve actually been. 😅

News article: globaltimes.cn/page/202405/131 which includes the hilarious line:

> The announcement of Ye Xiu as the Swiss Tourism Explorer for 2025 … commemorates the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Switzerland, according to the Yuewen Group.

There would certainly be worse ways to commemorate it!

@villainousfriend @plalligator clearly we’ve gotta get butterfly blue and yash chopra to do a collab next 😂

@Satsuma @plalligator I’m so here for this. 😄 Can we throw in the makers of Crash Landing On You, too? I’m like two degrees removed from the stunt double who did the actual crash landing scene, because this country is tiny.

@villainousfriend @Satsuma oh that’s right when my inlaws went to switzerland they said there were a bunch of korean tourists taking pictures at the filming spot
