Just got my mother home from the ER by literally pushing her wheelchair (it's only 1.3 miles from house to ER) because there was no medical transport available.
@Satsuma Yeah. When I left the ER at 3:15, they'd said "we'll discharge her after this test". I called again at 8:15 to find out the status because I had heard from Mom or them, and they were like "it might not be until tomorrow morning." x_x
So I suggested walking/pushing to Mom. She wanted to wait a little longer in case medical transport came through, but at 9:30 she went "okay let's give it a shot."
Tiring when you're pushing a wheelchair up and down slopes, but not too bad.
@rowyn Gack! Good that the weather allowed, the route was suffiiciently clear, and that your mother didn't have to stay another night in the hospital. The logistics snafu that made that the best plan is dismaying.
