i get so fucking steamed when dudes on wikipedia (you can tell they're dudes from their user pages) instantly revert an edit i've made with some pompous edit summary that makes it clear they think they own the page. i made an edit earlier to rephrase a sentence because it was literally plagiarized from an nyt article and my edit summary said "rephrased due to copyvio concerns" and this guy reverted it with an edit summary that made it clear he thought i was an idiot. and now i have to be civil and try to get him to talk to me because if i make any more changes without doing that i'll get accused of edit warring

wikipedia is definitely the most dude-centric place i hang out online btw. it's a wild experience. i have to make sure never to use exclamation marks or emoticons and not to thank people too much because i've noticed that those things make Wikipedia Bros starting pouring misogyny on me
