at risk of sounding like an insufferable vegetarian, seeing people make plans for small 1-acre farms for "self-sufficiency" where they cram multiple animals in is deranged.

@alys as a fellow vegetarian i will acknowledge that a couple chickens will keep the bugs down in the vegetable gardens & provide fertilizer without increasing the necessary productive load too seriously so they’re reasonably efficient as far as improving the self sufficiency of a small lot. The goats…good if that’s land that can’d be farmed for whatever reason (too steeply sloped, poor soil) but if they’re putting fruit trees in that seems unlikely….
