Class A is underway! It's a rematch from last year. Warroad is looking for four consecutive state titles (a new record) and Dodge County wants their first.

Dodge County got their revenge from last year and their first state title after an overtime goal that was called no-goal on the ice and was called good after video review.

They're resurfacing the ice in preparation for SECOND OVERTIME in the Class AA championship!!
(High school periods are 17 minutes. For tournament play, they do 8-min sudden death, re-ice, 17-minute sudden death, 8-min sudden death, re-ice, etc, until there's a winner. I think the record is six OTs?)

do you know why they alternate between full and short periods for overtimes?
@Satsuma I think it has to do with re-surfacing the ice.
They start with a short OT on the old ice because most of the time that's enough to finish the game and it keeps things moving. But by that point the ice is in rough shape, so before they continue they do another full intermission to put down a fresh sheet, which they can make last another full period and a half.
