fedi friends, what is the best way to hang unframed (mostly paper) art on the wall without damaging either the art or the wall?

@twistylittlepassages i’m seeing lots of painter’s tape recs but having done that in the past, it does not hold up long term and either sticks too hard to the art or the wall or both. i’ve seen folks build a really simple frame with magnets, where two strips of wood with magnets in them sandwich the top of the poster, which seems the least damaging to me but kind of revokes the whole “unframed” thing. command strips have poster-hanging strips that have worked great for me, but it might only work with the slickness of poster paper

@twistylittlepassages @raspberry yeah i have definitely torn the backs of some non-shiny papers that i hung with poster command hooks—my solution at the time was to start sticking some acid free scotch tape to the back of the paper first before putting the strips on which i recall working p well

@Satsuma @twistylittlepassages oooh that makes sense! except then the tape is there forever i imagine 😖

@twistylittlepassages @raspberry yeah that part is not ideal! with acid free tape i was willing to make the tradeoff but ymmv
