Covid; bedbound person being petty

How is "what you have does not define what you can become" going for you now, huh? Good luck not getting Long Covid. You're not going to be able to positive-attitude your way out of THAT diagnosis, trust me.

(I know this one individual's choices and beliefs are the *result* of powerful systems designed to treat disabled people badly. I'm still upset that a member of my communities acted this way.)

Covid; bedbound person being petty

@xieliansbignaturals yeah its frustrating to see how cavalierly everyone at the olympics seems to be treating COVID. The individual athletes who’ve competed while sick are mostly the ones making the news but their choices are only possible because the people organizing the event didn’t bother taking this seriously enough to build in even basic COVID precautions

Discussing lack of Covid precautions

@Satsuma Yeah, exactly. :( I feel so bad for everyone there. Not that it’s good for ANYONE to get Long Covid (or even just any Covid in the first place), but for these elite athletes, it would be especially devastating - I personally have managed to accept being bedbound from a similar disease only because my life’s dream is writing and I can still (kind of) do that.
