@rowyn the differences between honor and cassie’s magics (or at least what they find important enough to write down) is fascinating

@Satsuma @rowyn
Indeed!
They're at rather different places in their careers as witches, so the things they can do casually or need to focus on carefully differ.
Also, given how much of witchcraft is intention -- the reagents have power and aspects, but the aspects are very broad -- even tiny differences in attitude & perspective matter.
To complicate the current case, Honor is following one of Cassie's recipes without having read all of her journals to understand her take on potion design.

@kelkyag @Satsuma Ooh I meant to respond to Satsuma's message days ago but spaced it

The Apothecaria rules suggest that you're playing a new witch who just learned witchcraft from the old witch's notes. I totally ignored this when I started the game.

But when I started writing Honor, I really wanted to contrast the two characters' experience level and styles. I'm so happy that's come through and is interesting to readers. 💖

@kelkyag @rowyn Yeah Honor is clearly more of a novice, even if Cassie was also new to some things (like having a familiar) at her introduction also. But also I get the impression that their fundamental approaches are a bit different even once you account for the skill differential

@Satsuma @kelkyag Yes! Cassie was already set in her ways and only paid attention to what Witch Maeve said about reagents in the High Rannoc area. Where Honor learned everything from Seeker and from Maeve's notes.
