I am very interested in finding out whether MCS's illness is real or faked though. I hope it's real. A person with a chronic illness being badass is so much cooler than a person faking a chronic illness and being a badass.
Also I genuinely love the idea of a physically badass lady and a physically weak but clever man. Such a good dynamic! Need more of that in the world!

idk if this is exactly what you're looking for, but recommending Ancient Detective, with poisoned main character who is a wuxia detective and cannot fight, and part of his motley crew is an assassin woman who wants to leave her life of assassination
