I found myself opining in @ryfulets's comments about the most winningest romance dynamic, for me. In all romance stories there is usually something keeping the couple apart, whether it is "our families are at war" or "I don't think he could possibly like me," or "I'm not in love with him, that would be dumb, and I'm smart!"

THE BEST ONE is when the character is *fully* aware of their feelings, and *could* act on it, but their ~mission~ comes first.
