the amount of effort I go to on my phone to make proper nouns be lower-case when I'm writing thoughts on social media, because I am aiming for the vibe of low-key, casual, and chill, even though the ACTUAL casual and chill thing to do would be to let my phone autocorrect capitalize whatever the heck it wanted to and just leave it like that
@yesterdaychild @Satsuma @Betty yeah, it there's no real good solution for a keyboard for when you're out and about and using your phone one handed with no surface to put a keyboard on!
@Satsuma @Betty when I'm on my phone I use swiping to type, which means that I can't exactly opt out of autocorrect lol - it's integral to how swipe works! which is really irritating because I'm constantly having to correct things. but if I try typing the normal way on a phone keyboard I am SO much slower that I cannot stand it, possibly because I'm a really fast keyboard typist and anything slower than what I can do at my desk on a hardware keyboard gets my impatience really up! swiping is still slower than I want, but at least it's faster for me than hunting and pecking on the unfeatured smooth glass screen.
when I'm at my computer I'm very good at typing exactly what I mean to type, in terms of where I do and don't put capitals, for deliberate emphasis and tone, and I wish I could do everything with a proper keyboard but that wouldn't exactly fit in my pocket :P
