all the pieces for my #quilting project are cut out! next I need to put a 1/4 inch mark onto my sewing machine's plate because it's an antique with no measurement markings on it, and I need to make sure I can actually sew consistent seams
@soph_sol whoa!! That old huh!!
this quilt feels like it's going to be comforting to look at. i love the brilliant blue against the more muted colours!
@yesterdaychild haha yes my sewing machine is from the 1940's! it's been around the block a few times :)
and thank you so much! I'm very pleased with the colours. I spent sooo much time wandering the fabric store dithering
@soph_sol what brand sewing machine?
@Betty It's a Singer model 66!
@soph_sol I have an old Husqvarna that's not quite that old, but it is an absolute beast
@Betty huh, I'd never even heard of that brand. I love antique sewing machines though
@soph_sol it's... bought out? I think? By Viking
@soph_sol or maybe they just got tired of NAmericans asserting it was unpronouncable and rebranded?
@Betty lol! also a very strong possibility!
@serenadestrong @soph_sol @Betty wikipedia says Husqvarna sold their sewing machine branch in 1997 to Viking Sewing Machine Group, which was later bought out by SVP worldwide (which also owns Singer and Pfaff, if you’re looking for the other letters in that acronym)
@Satsuma @serenadestrong @soph_sol goodness! My machine is from the fifties, so she knows nothing of this state of affairs, and I don't believe I will tell her
