I'm excited when I see a new artist has joined the fediverse and is posting art I like, most especially when it's in one of my favorite fandoms.

I start to boost their art, but uh-oh I get the message that there's no alt text. A prompt asks me if I want to boost anyway. I almost always decide not to boost.

BUT. I also want to encourage artists who've just joined and aren't aware of the conventions or tools for posting alt text.

Should I boost anyway? My gut says yes.
