If the BBC was less transphobic but just as ableist and racist and xenophobic and anti-union as it is, fedi would be fine with it.

Still haven't managed to care about any of that other shit as much as we care about transphobia in particular.

Not long after I wrote this, I saw a boost from the CBC, Canadian news, account*. No one fediblocked them or said anything about Canada's racism or xenophobia or ableism or whatever when they got here.

No one is making philosophical arguments about how this just isn't the place for news or we shouldn't let companies get a foothold when it's Canada's broadcasting corporation.

* edit: My mistake, this is a Twitter mirror. I still think we should interrogate how we live the values we proclaim

But yeah I agree that fedi sometimes likes taking stands more than consistent policy
