there is a wip I'm following from a fandom I haven't been in for a lot of years, and this fic is just so LONG and it keeps on GOING and almost nothing happens in it. Why am I still reading it. It had a fun premise! but I stopped caring at least 200,000 words ago

that fic where the author didn’t update for a while and you keep meaning to reread bc you remember enjoying it but in the meanwhile the new chapters just keep piling up
author has taken a characterization in a direction you find moderately annoying but the updates aren’t *quite* long enough to hit your annoyance threshold (and by the time the next chapter comes out you’ve forgotten how bothered you were)
