Reading yet another fic where A-Yuan is supposed to be 4 but he's talking like he's 2. I mean, it's very cute! But haven't these people ever been around toddlers before? 4-year-olds and 2-year-olds are practically a different species, they're so different!
@lirazel I have found that Ah Yuan is somehow especially tricky because IDK if on the show, he's that consistent? I've found it really hard to get a handle on "this is the range of What Ah Yuan Can Do" and then when I look up the actor's age, all is extra lost... I used to spend a lot of time around kids aged 2-6 and I still struggle with this, particularly for this kid.
@jo_lasalle @lirazel Tbh I don't remember him saying that much in cql so I can imagine people getting confused about his age and development...
@thalassa @lirazel @jo_lasalle speech delays due to trauma are a thing as well, so it wouldn’t be that unreasonable for him to read a little “young” for his age (not that i think most people who write four year olds talking like babies have put that much thought into it. but i like comfort myself haha)
