Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty is a historical drama (as you may have guessed lol) that follows three very different types of detectives who get thrown together while investigating some court intrigue. I think it does a good job balancing the character beats, the cases, and the court politics. Excellent found family dynamics (plenty of ship potential if you wanna also). Also features lots of food porn and some pretty sets and costumes as well. If you enjoy Sleuth, Imperial Coroner is a good show to watch next!
Both have teensy fandoms tho, so fair warning on that! If you’re banking on having a trove of fic to read after try shows based on danmei by MXTX (the Untamed is a drama (liveaction) or Scum Villain and Heaven Official’s Belssing are dongua (animated serieses)) or Priest (Guardian & Word of Honor both have dramas). Personally I absolutely love Guardian but it definitely suffers a bit from being the front edge to the current novel adaptation trend—their funding was inconsistent so production quality is variable, they had to make some serious compromises to pass censorship (it went from being fantasy to handwavy sci fi essentially) but the main pairings chemistry is phenomenal

The Legend of Fei is also a Priest adaptation. I have to put in a good word for it because it has Wang Yibo being delightfully pretty in it, as well as a kickass female lead, and a background OT3 heavily coded as polyamorous.
(The TV adaptation plot is a mess in many ways, but I still love it dearly)
