was looking at the open collective concept of a 'fiscal host', and i know it would come down to resourcing, but i think it would be cool if the #OTW could set one up and allowed fannish projects to run through them.

i am happy to continue paying for this instance out of pocket, but thinking about the future of it and the future of other fannish projects, i think it has potential to be both a source of funding and a source of transparency about what happens to that funding.

(and if anyone wants to know anything about our expenses, let me know.)

@thedeadparrot the OTW’s history with their own finances are patchy enough that unfortunately i’m not sure i’d trust them with anyone else’s money? but it would be really cool to have something like open collective explicitly geared towards fandom/fannish spaces

@Satsuma that's fair, but yeah, i was thinking that they already had a legal entity, lawyers, and a bank account, and open collective is already set up to support an org like that taking other, smaller projects under their wing.
