how hard would it be to make public access logs for masto admins to be transparent to members of an instance about when/if "DMs" (such as they are) are accessed/read? like I assume it would be impossible to do 100% perfectly because direct database access or whatevs, but through whatever means that would normally happen?

@jonny DM’s can only be accessed two ways:
- through the report interface, if one has been reported (which you shouldn’t reveal for obvious reasons)
- directly through the database

there’s no admin interface for accessing DM’s

@jonny its worth additionally noting that many admins don’t even have database access (eg. anyone who uses masto.host)
