Remembering the time i was called an abusive fascist because i was posting about how i liked my mom

Because "all parents are abusive fascists"

With no room for conversation

@magicalmilly i once had someone tell me that in their ideal society, all children were raised in institutions by the state

Because because the power dynamic parenting entails was inherently abusive of course (how the state mandated child rearers would avoid not just…also making rules and telling kids what to do for the purposes of keeping them fed, clean, educated, etc was not explained)

@Satsuma we tried that once.

It was called the Indian Boarding Schools.

And.

Well,

Follow

@magicalmilly yeah i sorta figured they must have had a really terrible childhood to think institutionalization would have been preferable and since they didn’t seem open to discussion I just sorta left

But yeah handing a whole bunch of children over to the state for institutional care, historically ranged from ‘well i guess its technically better than some of the alternatives’ (eg. orphanages) to ‘objectively horrifying’
