i feel like no matter how many years i do computer programming, i'm always going to accidentally write "if x % y" when i mean "if x % y == 0" and "if x & y" when i mean "if x & (1 << y)" and then sit there angrily mumbling "why isn't this working" at the screen for twenty minutes before i realize my mistake(s)

EDIT: That looks like an ascii stick figure, but I can't figure out what emotion or action a '&1' (bottom to the right) face is being.
