what does this even mean

@Lady People seem to think that accurate polls mean, "they provide 100% certainty about who will win or lose" and when they don't do that it's like, "What good are they? I wanted to know if I needed to vote today or not and they can't even help with that! Polls, shmolls!"

@Lady That said, in terms of "providing some kind of an indicator of who will win" they seem to be especially bad at that this particular election

@oliphant in fairness, if you’re going to have a severe methodological error, having one which makes the race appear inconclusive is a lot better than one which makes the race appear Far Too Conclusive, which is what they did in 2016
