Man I feel like I'm gonna have to go back and re-assess the Lightbringer series because so far this newest Brent Weeks book has really disappointed me in a LOT of ways
A lot of it is done with first-person narration and he's turned the main character into a fuckin idiot
Not, like, a guy who sucks kind of idiot (he was always kind of that), I mean a doesn't know fuck about shit kind of idiot, real gawps and looks awkwardly at the plot happening around him type idiot
And it fucking sucks!!!
Also there's a lot of internal monologuing that is just
It's literally just shit from superhero stories, the whole "I can't let anyone get too close to me, I'm a danger to them, I have to be alone" shit

@coriander stephenie meyer wrote a Twilight from Edward’s perspective and all the reviewers were like “yeah so I hate him now”
@Lady It's actually a mix of both because he also has this "I'm going to outlive anyone I ever meet so I shouldn't get close to anyone" deal
