So, I can't speak for everyone who is making submarine jokes, but while there definitely is an element of joy that a billionaire finally got theirs for being a professional fucker, for me the jokes also help deal with the fucking horrifying concept of being stuck at the bottom of the ocean in a Pringles can, like
You can try to moralize it all you want but for me making jokes about one billionaire getting pasted is preferable to having to seriously think about one of the worst possible ways to go

if you're alone it's just like, take a nap, eventually you will run out of oxygen and not wake up
(ofc now we know it was a catastrophic implosion so presumably it was a pretty fast end)
