are there unicode guidelines on how to encode a single‐ or double‐dot ellipsis
my guess is that it’s “just use periods” but we should also acknowledge that unicode does not have particularly good ellipsis guidelines presently
i stand corrected; it looks like U+2024 ․ ONE DOT LEADER and U+2025 ‥ TWO DOT LEADER are indeed intended for this purpose; i had assumed they were technical characters
U+2026 … HORIZONTAL ELLIPSIS is literally just “three dot leader” they just gave it a different name for some reason (western bias)
