Gambling is becoming distressingly normalized in our society of late

I recognize this is a take that's kind of hard to word well because it could sound like I'm shaming people who gamble responsibly or people with gambling addictions and I'm not here for doing either of those things

So what I mean by this is "Between blind boxes, loot crates in video games, fucking sports betting apps and advertisements therefor, currently a fuckload of people are being inundated with gambling on every angle in a way that is, at best, irresponsible and, at worst, flagrantly immoral."

There are arguments to be made for any of these things in isolation (I'm currently having a conversation about blind boxes in particular where I'm relatively defending them) but when you put all this shit together, it starts to look Bleak

@witchfynder_finder it’s a lot easier to defend them in a world where people don’t need money to Eat
